wHAT SHOULD I DO?
You must communicate with your high school guidance counselor that you are interested in the IB Program. In order for students to have room to complete the entire IB diploma program it is crucial that students sign up for the right classes starting their sophomore year. We recommend that every student takes English 10, Spanish, Math 2, Science, Health/Fit for Life, a CTE Elective, and Government/Financial Lit.
What are the benefits?
The benefits of the IB program are tremendous. A student that successfully completes the diploma program can earn up to 30 college credits. Colleges do vary in the amount of IB credit they accept and they also vary in the type of credit that students can earn (subject specific or elective). aRE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES?
Although students coming from honors classes will have a clear advantage in the program, there are no requirements to have taken honors courses. It is suggested that students interested in IB take an AP course either in the 9th or 10th grade year. We also suggest that students take Financial Literacy and Government their sophomore year.
IS IB Right for me or my child?
The IBDP is a rigorous course of study for motivated students. That said, prior academic success is less an indicator of ability to earn the diploma than are a student’s determination to do his or her best, willingness to be organized in order to complete the work while leading a full, balanced life, and a strong commitment to learning in and beyond the classroom.

Currently the IB program costs students a $172 registration fee and $119 per test for a total of $886.
